A conceptual proposal for a large-scale university medical and wellness complex in Dakhla, Morocco.
The architectural concept draws inspiration from the five-pointed Moroccan star, transforming this emblematic national symbol into the foundation of the masterplan. The radial composition organizes the different functions around a central core, creating a strong architectural identity while establishing clear connections between healthcare, education, research, and wellness facilities.
Set within a coastal landscape, the project aims to create a contemporary landmark that reflects Moroccan identity through a distinctly modern architectural language.
Approach
The architectural approach is based on a radial masterplan inspired by the geometry of the five-pointed Moroccan star. The central core acts as the organizing element, connecting the healthcare, educational, research, and wellness components into a coherent campus.
The design integrates landscaped public spaces, pedestrian connections, and generous outdoor areas to create a welcoming academic and healthcare environment. The coastal setting and Moroccan cultural identity are translated into a contemporary architectural language, combining strong geometric principles with fluid landscaped spaces and a clear hierarchy of functions.
